Long gone are the days of editing documents and presentations by hand, along with waiting on snail-mail to deliver an important message. Document editors and email clients get used pretty much every day, no matter what industry your business is in. Here are a few different document editing and email solutions:
Microsoft Office This is perhaps one of the most popular options, just because of how well known it is. Microsoft Office usually includes a word, spreadsheet, and presentation editor. Different suites can include a note-taking program and email client. Microsoft Office usually requires a license key to be purchased for the installation.
Google G Suite for Business This suite is formerly known as Google Apps for Work. It can include a word, spreadsheet, and presentation editor. Some of these are offered for free with any Google account but there is a charge when using G Suite for Business.
OpenOffice OpenOffice is a free document editing suite which, like the others above, include a word, spreadsheet, and presentation editor.
Microsoft Outlook Outlook can be included as part of the Microsoft Office programs. Because of this, it may be one of the most common email clients.
Thunderbird Thunderbird is made by the same company as Firefox (a web browser). It is available for free download from their site. You can configure Thunderbird to connect to your email account, as long as you have the proper settings for incoming and outgoing servers.
Gmail Anyone with a Google account can have a Gmail account. This is a web-based email platform, which you can access on any device that has an internet connection. While this isn’t exactly an email client, you can use Outlook or Thunderbird to access your Gmail emails.
